It is almost 11 am here but nobody is stirring in the next room. The last thing Dixie said before going to bed was that today we´d have brunch. Last night we had a late dinner with champagne. We had crab and shrimp with mayo for starters and the trout I brought with salads after that. I was not very fond of those cherry tomtoes of every color until I tried them yesterday. They were delicious. For desser we had stollen with a very good coffee and after that Humberto brought his hidden Jack Daniels for the two of us. As we embraced each other when the clock struck twelve we just wished "Health". It is all we want at this time of our lives. I wish you all a happy new year and may we all be healthy.

My daughter are usually in bed before 12. So I always come to Dixie´s for New Year.

@wolfgirl569 I usually went to my parent´s in law house and we saw the fireworks on TV. It never was very exciting.

Happy New Year to you and to Dixie and Humberto. I also had shrimps with a pink sauce and smoked salmon. We opened the champagne and had strawberry cheesecake to serve with it.

Sounds like you had a great dinner, Glad you all had such a great time. There was a standard saying for the New Year that people used to exchange it was wishing everyone health, wealth, and happiness.

I have a saying in Spanish that says Health, Money and Love. On New Year, the 3 of us repeated "health" 3 times.

I love the cherry tomatoes the all different colored ones I either wasn’t as fond of or didn’t think they were very different from the red I usually buy I can’t remember.

Good morning and Happy New Year to you too.

That sounds like a delicious dinner. Last night I watched the London fireworks on the telly. I thought the music and the voice over, and the highlights of the year gone were too much. I could have done with just the fireworks. Thank you very much. You too.

After dinner Dixie and Humberto went to watch the fireworks on TV. I did not follow them because I hate fireworks so I stayed at the dining room sipping a bit of champagne.
