Thursday Morning Brief

Good morning from snowy Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. The temperature on the computer says 27. Our high today is 31. In a couple of days, this will be warm.
I have a couple of good hours every morning before I need to use the walker for the rest of the day. Usually, by the time I'm dressed, my back is bad. I took Ibuprofen at midnight. It's time to take it again.
I finished most of today's plans. I have the laundry done, and the bed stripped and made. I also got my shower before the pain kicked into high gear.
For the rest of the day, I'll be working on the notifications, my book, and Canasta at noon.
I just looked at the weather report. The map shows the storm is almost finished until tomorrow, when we have a major storm coming our way.
The garage door people are here fixing the door. I hope it makes a big difference in my apartment and isn't quite as cold as it's been since someone broke it at the beginning of December. It will be good if I don't need to raise my thermostat so high to have warmth in here. My apartment is right next to the underground garage.

I am having back pain today too that the pain pills can't reach. I hope yours is better. I hope your apartment is warmer after the garage door is fixed. Am so far behind here today. I hope I finish in the next hour or hour and a half. Have a good evening.

Thank you. I can tell it's getting colder. I haven't turned my heat down as I have been the last couple of days.

@just4him That seems so unusual to me. When I was a landlord in Milwaukee I almost had to include heat with my multi-unit properties just to get people to bite. Interestingly enough, the renters never could quite figure out that the heat wasn't actually free...
It was just added to their rent. lol But if it sold them? So be it.

Oh my, I didn't realize you were using a walker at least some of the time. That must make it hard to get steps in. It is going to be pretty bitter here too for at least one day next week. I can't imagine what you will be experiencing there.

I'm using my foot cycle most of the time to get my steps. It also burns more calories than walking. When my back isn't as painful as it is right now, I'll try walking, but right now, it's out of the question.
Next week we have single digits Monday to Wednesday when we also have severe windchills. It will be an initial shock to the system. Especially as I need to go out twice on Monday: once to the hospital in the morning and again in the afternoon to get my hair cut. I'm looking shaggy.
I'm glad we're getting this severe cold. We need it so badly to kill all the germs floating around. It's time for people to get healthy again.

@just4him I wouldn't go out in cold like that..but I guess you feel you feel you have to. Especially if it is windy it would be horrible. Sorry about your back..that sucks.

I think we might have gotten more snow than you did. It was enough that I had to plow and shovel yesterday. We got more overnight but not as much and we're probably getting what your are tomorrow into Saturday. It doesn't look like fun.

@just4him I have two things I should do next week if we don't get more snow. I have some windows to finish. They are at least on the inside but I have to carry my bucket to and fro.
And then the luncheon with my cousin.
At least I don't have to go to work everyday. That's a major blessing.

It finally stopped snowing. It lasted longer than they said it would. It's really pretty out there.
I'd be jealous of your snow if we didn't have some. This weekend is going to be rough and next week will be very cold. I almost wish I didn't need to go out in it.
