George and I slept in this morning, so we got a late start. His feeding tube is starting to clog a bit, not flushing as quickly as it used to. Nothing I can't handle. It's bound to happen at some point. Need to check placment next time I give him a feed. That's the hard part of the caregiver life. He doesn't want to eat. He didn't have much of an appaite to start with, but it's harder when he's sick and doesn't want to eat to get stronger. Other than that, he's doing pretty good and is spending some time outside since it's a bit warmer today. I'll try to get him in the shower either wednesday or thuresday since he has a doctor's appoitment on Friday. It could be worse I guess. Hopefully we don't get that rain. We could use the break.

It must be frustrating when you know he’d get better faster if he ate, but he just won’t do it.

Yeah, it kind of is. He's strong enough to put up a fight, and sometimes physically tries to fend me off.

@kaylachan Oh, that’s not good. I hate to say men are the worst patients, but I really think they might be.

@AmbiePam You might be right. However, if the roles were reversed, I might be just like him. At least the afasia isn't to bad today. And, he's not getting as frusterated. So, I'll take it.

Sure had rain coming down on my end this afternoon. I hope the week will progress better, Perhaps it is time to consider those nutritional drinks because they are also tasty if he lacks appetite, All the best to you both and Chilly,

I give him at least three a day through the peg tube. It keeps him alive. However, he needs solid food too if he doesn't want continious runny poop. It can leave a person with an upset stomach.

@RasmaSandra I'll look into it. As for getting his favorite food, I'll have to find out when I can get some help.

@kaylachan SIGH I know just how you feel. Is there any way you could possibly get his top favorite food and maybe entice his appetite? Just trying to help, Not sure if this can help but here is the link

I hate how dense this crap is. And, I'm the one giving it. I'd hate having to recieve it. Especially since this stuff takes me a good fourty-five minutes to an hour to give. Part of it could be the food, and the other could be the tube is becoming clogged.

@kaylachan .......But think about how well he's doing compared to a few weeks back. And soon you will have some nice weather and that should help him to feel better.

It should eventually. I can't expect much given the stroke and us only being home a little over a week.

Yeah, and he's getting a little more active. Not grabbing onto walls as much. I can understand going into our bedroom because the floor slopes.... but he's not struggling as much in the living room or kitchen.

I hope you can call a nurse just in case you need help with the feeding tube. I know that it is frustrating when you want to help and the one you are helping does not cooperate.

Yes, we have home health with phone numbers. I know the problem. One of his meds causes a clog.

I'm sorry George doesn't have an appetite. Eating would help him improve physically. Hope you two (and Chilly) have a good day.
