Monday Notes & A Photo Edit

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? It's Monday afternoon here on a cold winter day. Currently 12F degrees. No snow in the forecast today, but I measured and in the deepest spots I think we got 13 inches. At least the sun is out today. Eli did not have to go to school today, it was cancelled. Not sure tomorrow the roads will be any better. However, I know they only are allowed so many snow days before they have to make them up. I would like to get to the store sometime, running low on things. But I know the side roads are still pretty bad. I am sure the main roads have been cleaned and so would be okay. But I don't want to get stuck on the side roads. Guess we will see how things go. Maybe later this week. I thought I would share another photo with you all. This one is a photo edit I did on a photo I took. What do you all think?

Our kids were supposed to have a day off today but due to snow day make ups they went today. My stepson was home sick though. Wow 13 inches yuck!

Couldn't they just make them up at the end of the year or something? That stinks. 13 inches is way too much for sure

@MommyOfEli2013 they don’t like to do that anymore and if they miss a certain amount of days instead of putting on the end of the year they will have the kids do virtual schooling on snow days.

@shaggin oh okay, well that makes sense. I'd be fine with my son having to do the virtual thing on snow days. I know it wouldn't work for everyone because they can't just stay home with their kids. I think they mentioned here if they had too many it might interfere with spring break.

Well if you don't get more snow, the roads will get a chance to clear up a bit, hopefully. Stay safe and be careful if you do go out.

Not much when it is this cold still. Won't start to warm up till Wed or so. I am sure the main roads will be okay, but they never clean the side roads and that is all that surrounds where we live.

Glad you like the photo! I could show the original photo, it was kind of a grey boring sky lol. Yes, we did get a blizzard after all I guess. Hoping the rest of the winter is more kind.

The sky looks just amazing, With most people having PCs I would have thought schools could send their pupils work to be done if they cannot come to school like for snow days so they would not miss too much,

Glad you think so! And yes, you would think so nowadays. They haven't made us do that yet though.

Our schools were all closed for MLK day, now tomorrow they are having a virtual learning day due to the weather. It did snow a little more this evening, and I believe it's supposed to snow on Thursday evening, time will tell.

@MarieCoyle Well that is good they do. I think once they get to middle school here they are given devices to use throughout the year.

The schools in our district do not close for MLK day, haven't in a long time. We will get President's day off next month. Sorry it is a virtual learning day there, here they didn't make us do that on our days off. We are supposed to get some tonight/tomorrow...then maybe a break till Saturday. Hopefully not much on Saturday as have 2 appointments out of town next week.

@MommyOfEli2013 The kids here all have chrome books issued by the schools in case of remote learning days, so it works for the most part, except it leaves some parents scrambling for child care.
