Fast Changing Landscape before Our Eyes

21 years have passed after I came to serve in this charitable institution FAMILIA. Oh what changes have come about during this period of time! Many colleagues have gone away from here. Some have also died. The founder director has retired and now is bed ridden. His wife is lifted up to that chair of honour. However, his son- in - law runs the institute. The character of the institute has changed in many ways. Also the outward landscape is undergoing huge transformation. The school conducted by our society has grown to a four storey building. The road in front has been widened. And for the last three years a flyover is being built in front of the school gate. Great progress around us is unmistakably visible . Yet, something is making me melancholic. What is that which is making me feel so? Loss of old friends or old ways I was comfortable with ? Or anything else?

It's hard sometimes to know why you feel melancholic. Perhaps it is a combination of things. Do you have plans to retire at some stage?

Yeah I agree about feeling sadness for old times.

I guess you feel that way because of not seeing the old ways in this institution.

I know he feeling. When you lose your friends, or the places changed too much, we feel a sort of sadness.

I'm glad you have memories of the charitable institution. Many things are changing physically but the memories don't change. Maybe that is why you feel sad.
