Not going down town shopping today.

I wanted to go shopping today. I wanted to get some more pictures printed, and I wanted to see if I could get a Leisure Painter and The Artist Magazines. I also needed to get some more soy milk, aswell as the things for my mother. BUT. There is a thin layer of frost on the ground outside and, as it's -1° outside, it doesn't look like it's going to be melting any time soon. So I've had to change my plans. I don't want to go out on the frost and slip and fall, so I'm staying home. If the frost does thaw, my Mum might go to the little Tesco and get my soy milk and some other things for her. My Mum also wanted to go to the bank to get some money out. She says she might go for that tomorrow instead, (weather permitting!) So I'm staying home and watching telly and Mylotting instead today. What is the weather like where you are today? What are you going to be doing today? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

Better not to go out if there is a thin layer of frost. We had a dense fog here this morning, followed by strong wind. It is sunny right now, but the wind is too cold.

@sharonelton - This cold is horrible. I told you this summer that later we would have complained because of the cold.

No, I didn't go out. And neither did my mother! This weather is terrible, isn't it? Do you remember in the summer when we were complaining about the heat?! It was sunny today here too, but still very cold.

Oh, no! Did you get the snow as predicted? I bet the kids are glad the schools are closed! Thank you very much. You have a good weekend too.

It is cold! I walked my dog, she got downstairs, and then looked up at me like, are you crazy?! So she hurriedly did her business, I disposed of it, and she went right back up those stairs.

I don't blame her! The frost refused to thaw off our drive! All the rest of the houses in our street were clear of frost, and there was us with a patch of frost that never got the sun and wouldn't melt!

@sharonelton -2 here and a thick layer of frost. I’ve almost had a few mishaps on an ungritted street but managed to hang on to my dignity and have avoided a bruised behind. I intend keeping it that way.

Oh, no! I'm so sorry to hear that. I wouldn't have gone out at all! I do remember falling flat on my bum once on the ice when it had been snowing!

Cold here but sunny. So far I've only been out first thing to feed the chickens and let them out, and take warm water for them and the wild birds. Everything was still frozen then.

Same here. The sun is out but because it's still about -1° it's still not melting the frost. I looked out the back and the bird bath is frozen over. I hope your chickens are OK, and the wild birds.

I wouldn't want to be going out either, if I thought I might slip and fall. I'm not as good on my feet as I used to be.

I know what you mean. That's why I use a walking stick these days. But even with that I wouldn't want to go out on the snow and ice!
