Have you been getting a lot of snow? We've been getting our share in my state. I've forgotten what the stuff looks like the past 2 years. Definitely a "good thing" for kids wanting the day off from school and a "bad thing" for us adults who have to shovel. Anyway, here are a few "good" songs I like listening to on a snowed in day. Comments, musings, your own favorite "good or bad" titled songs and trivia always welcome... ***GOOD FEELING TO KNOW- POCO (1972) -You may not be familiar with this tune from the Country Rock band "Poco," but give it a listen, it's a goody! Written by Richie Furay, one of the group's founders, it was the band's most recognizable track from their early period. *How did you like this tune? Have you heard of the band POCO and this song? If you have any favorite tunes? TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess these selections. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! Name this week's tune, artist or facts: 1. This #1 psychedelic sounding song from 1966 was a departure from the band's earlier themes of "girls, surf. and car music," which was so successful in the group's previous albums. This song has a "flower power" feel to it, focusing on how lovers "pick up some excellent inner vibes" from each other. If you're looking for a "Surf's Up" sound from these "California Boys," this song is not the one. -Can you name this band and their "good-titled" song? 2. This clever song uses both a "greeting and an adios" in the same title. "Its a song of opposites" just like "yes and no or night and day." This "mop-topped" 60's British band's bassist came up with this #1 track in 1967, and it was included on the Psychedelic sounding "Magical Mystery Tour LP." -Can you name this group and the "2 greetings" which make for a song with an "opposite title?" Hint: one of them is "GOOD (bye)." Hoping you have a "good head on your shoulders" when solving these artists and songs. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as the band Chicago would say, you can "Call on Me." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition in the near future. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

Yes, Country Rock it is... I enjoy some of these groups and the Southern Rock bands. It a nice change of pace for me. Anyway, on to the quiz answers which in fact our "as good as gold." More music fun trivia: -The ending of "Hello Goodbye" where all The Beatles sing, "Hela, hey, aloha," was improvised in the studio. -"Good Vibrations" was the last US #1 hit for The Beach Boys until "Kokomo" went to #1 22 years later. - Brian Wilson wrote "Good Vibrations" while on LSD, which provided its unique musical arrangement.

POCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I love Poco! My favorite rock band and 6th favorite country band! My favorite song of theirs is “Too Many Nights Too Long.” “A Good Feelin’ to Know” is good, and so is their song “Bad Weather.” Gotcha covered on both sides! 1. Usually vibrations in California are caused by earthquakes, so they aren’t good. Trivia: Glen Campbell was a “substitute Beach Boy” when Brian was having stage fright attacks. 2. Man, you should’ve seen them, kicking Edgar Allan Poe! You say yes, I say no, you say why, I say man this would make a good song! This was that band Paul McCartney was in before Wings, right??? Funny how the last song on Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album starts with the word “hello”(“Harmony”), so he got the “Hello, Goodbye” fix in, too!

Good show!!! As the Boys would say, "Fun, Fun, Fun" comments and answers there. Poco would have been a band I would have liked to see. No matter when you saw them there were so many great musicians that were members of that group. Yes, knew the Glen trivia and Brian had The Wrecking Crew do all of the instrumentation by the time Pet Sounds was recorded. Terrific song "Harmony." More music fun trivia: -The ending of "Hello Goodbye" where all The Beatles sing, "Hela, hey, aloha," was improvised in the studio.

1. Beach Boys - Good Vibrations 2. Beatles - Hello and Goodbye I'm not sure of these. I know the group Poco; but not familiar with their music. Thanks for the link; but it's not my kind of music. Enjoy your day and new week.
