Tamarack the K9 dog reunites with his owner Hayden Wildfong

Former Mason Police Department Officer Hayden Wildfong who resigned from the police force last month after he broke a company rule of leaving his weapon unattended while he was doing exercises in front of high school students was placed on leave and later resigned from the police force. What happened next was that Hayden lost the services of his K9 partner dog Tamarack after he resigned from the police force. After the citizens of Mason requested that Hayden should be reunited with his dog, Tamarack was then taken to the Ingham County Animal Shelter (ICAS) when the officials of ICAS approved of the reunion of Tamarack and his owner on Tuesday. Tamarack and Hayden did reunite on Wednesday. In my opinion what Hayden did by leaving his weapon unattended was not an excuse to be placed on leave, resign and take away his dog. The good news is that Tamarack and Hayden are back together thanks to the outcry from the community in Mason to have the former police officer and his K9 dog reunite. I think it was a very good reason for this fellow to be placed on leave. What a dangerous thing he did. He should be repremanded.

You are right since leaving his weapon exposed in front of children was wrong.

He did something very serious, but I would never take someone’s dog away from them.

I agree with you that punishments should fit the crime.
