Charlote County Deputy Sergeant Dave Musgrove was in the right place at the right time on Thursday evening when he was riding on his squad car when a male riding in a motorcycle at high speed ran by the deputy. What happened next was that the motorcyclist crashed into an auto that was driven by a female with two children inside. Tragically the male motorcyclist died in the collision with the auto. Sergeant Musgrove heard the female driver cries for help since her six month old girl was knocked out from the collision with the motorcycle. Sergeant Musgrove was able to open the back door of the auto involved in the collision with the motorcycle and remove the six month old girl and proceeded to give her chest compressions so she could revive after had no pulse or heartbeat at the time that the sergeant removed her from the car seat. Sergeant Musgrove then gave the child to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) employees who found a pulse on the six month old girl and took her to a local hospital where she is expected to make a full recovery from her injuries. It is a shame that the motorcyclist lost his life in the collision. The mother and her other child who were involved in the collision with the motorcyclists are okay. The police officer did have help from bystanders who assisted him during the time when he was able to use his first aid training skills to revive the six month old girl. I am sure that Sergeant Musgrove will be rewarded by his superiors with a life saving award in the near future. Link is lehighacrescitizen.com/2024/02/16/cha...

It seems so uncommon that a motorcyclist would affect those in a car like that, especially with the six month in a car seat. I guess we can never underestimate an impact. You couldn’t pay me to get on a motorcycle.

It must be very traumatic to come across a traffic accident or to have one happen in front of you.

Sergeant Musgrove is a real hero! It’s incredible how he was able to perform life-saving actions in such a critical moment. It's heartwarming to hear that the little girl is expected to recover.

Children at that age are very resilient, and it is good that a full recovery will be made. Motorcyclists too often recklessly speed along, and cause much trouble on the roads.
