Marathon kitchen session

Phew! Bit off more than I could chew with the prep on this one (in a manner of speaking). Lunch was a variation of coulibiac (a fish pie made with salmon) but since I did not have salmon, it inadvertently became an ode the humble sprat. The sprats were partnered with scrambled eggs, oyster mushrooms and broccoli, enclosed in nice quick bread pastry. Served with a nice stew of beans, pumpkin, tomatoes and buckwheat. Kitchen marathon for lunch! Given the fact that we only ate at 4 pm, I should rather say we took a marathon tea The sun is out for an almighty change - good thing that, we managed a brisk walk. Now I've got space for coffee

Sounds like a real feast. Good that you decided on a brisk walk afterwards.
