Good morning.

Early last night, early the smorning, we were treated to a nice little thunderstorm. Previous storms that have come through in recent months had just been florida "snow" or good old rain. Chilly did okay for a couple of minutes, but fled as soon as the storm approached us. I can still hear occassional thunder, but no longer can hear the rain. George slept through it for the most part, and he's getting himself up and dressed. I've given him his morning pill. I have to give him his peg tube dressing change and open a new box of formula. It also means he gets a fresh syringe, because I change those out once a week. I hate opening the boxes, but I'd rather fight with heavy boxes then loose George because he doesn't want to eat. He's gotten a lot better, but it's a process. And one I refuse to rush or force.

Patience is so important. Nice to hear he is doing so much better. Those darned heavy boxes. You will have some impressive biceps.

Let's just say, I can probably lift my own wheelchair in and out of the van now. All because I'm carting cases of tube feed around my house.

Sounds like it was a lively night with the thunderstorm! It's great that George is doing better and you're finding ways to get him the nourishment he needs. It's admirable your dedication to his care and patience through the process. Wishing you both a good day!

10cc had a song called “The Things We Do for Love,” which was meant to be humorous; however, it is the truth. When someone you love is sick you aren’t capable of knowing the things you can do for them. It’s a blessing, I know that. I’m so happy George is improving!! And you’re right, it’s not to be rushed…”getting back to normal” is a really slow exhale.

It is. He's a human being. I celebrate every little victory. Even if it's something as simple as him going to the bathroom in the tolit, instead of in his pants.

Right now, not really. It's plesent. We'll have a couple days in the 60's but that's nothing for us.
