People in grocery stores

I was just at the grocery store and the one thing that drives me nuts is when someone is picking their nose and then starts to touch all of the vegetables. I ended up not buying anything I needed in that department because everything on my list the man was touching. The thing that caught my attention the most is he continued to pick his nose and touch every vegetable he looked at without whipping his finger. It just made me sick to my stomach and so I decided not to purchase the vegetables I needed. Has this happened to anyone else? Lol, I had to tell someone its one of my pet peeves.

Even reading this makes me fill sick.. that's disgusting. Wish one could be rude and go out of the way to bring it to his attention.

Someone should say something to someone who does something like that.

@jstory07 Yes, someone has to. Unfortunately most of us choose to be mute spectator and avoid the uncomfortable situation.

It is a pet peeve of mine to see someone pick his nose or spit out of the window in a moving auto.

That drives me nuts as well. When I am driving down the road then stop at a light and someone picking their nose. I think to myself at least use a knapkin or something and just blow it. Now in the store I think to myself at least not do it in the store wait til you get to your car lol.

@Chel46 My relatives would be offended if a person spit out of a window or picked their nose.

That's really an unhygienic way to buy groceries. I will walk away in no time.

This is disgusting. We have to wear disposable gloves before touching what we want to buy here.

@Chel46 I do not live in the United States, I live in Switzerland. In most European countries you have to get the disposable gloves placed near the fruits and vegetables to serve yourself.

I am not sure if I have seen this, but I imagine hands have been everywhere and it just is what it is. If I'd have seen it, I probably would have done the same and forewent any purchases. But I am sure worse things happen that we don't see. So long as we wash our veggies, it should be all good.

This is the trouble with buying things like vegetables, you never know who has touched them before you buy . I am always wary of buying fresh rolls and cakes that customers can help themselves to.

Yes I completely agree with what you said. Our fred meyers here there is a video of rats eating the rolls and running ontop of the donuts that were out so I do not get anything from the bakery ever. This is the same store that the man was picking his nose and touching the vegetables so I am very careful with what I purchase from that location.

Oh no, that sounds like quite an uncomfortable experience! ?? While I haven't encountered nose-picking in the vegetable aisle, I totally get how it can be a major pet peeve. In my country, we generally make it a habit to wear gloves before touching vegetables, so that might help ease some concerns. Hopefully, your next grocery trip is nose-picking-free and much more pleasant! ????

Plastic gloves should be used when customers want to touch vegetables.
