Not going shopping today because I'm in pain.

I'm not going to the little Tesco today because I twisted myself funny on Sunday and I now have a pain on my right side. It hurts a bit when I stand up and when I sit down and if I move too quickly. I have been putting Voltarol on morning and evening, and it has helped a little bit, but it still hurts. Instead I'm staying home watching telly. Homes Under the Hammer is on at the moment. My Mum said she'd go to the little Tesco as soon as she'd had her elevensis cup of coffee, but as soon as she'd finished it she fell asleep again! I've been trying to get to Cardiff in all sorts of ways. We were supposed to be going on a trip to Cardiff once with the luncheon club (this was pre-covid), and I was really excited! But then it got cancelled because there weren't enough people wanting to go to warrant a coach! I was SOOOO disappointed! I thought, if there's not enough people wanting to go to warrant a coach, don't just cancel it! Go in a smaller minibus or a convoy of cars instead! Anyway, then I asked my brother if he could take me to Cardiff as part of my birthday present a few years ago. He came back and said it was too expensive. I thought, if it's too expensive I'd pay for your petrol money! I think he thought I meant a coach trip, not just driving there. Then I asked my friend Yasmin if we could go to Cardiff. I thought we'd just get in a car and drive, but she said she doesn't like driving too far because of her fibro whatever-it-is, she gets tired very easily. She said she'd see if the garden centre near her was doing a trip. She found they'd done a trip to Cardiff, but we'd missed it. She checked to see if there was one this year, but she found out they're not doing a trip to Cardiff this year. So then I asked her if we could go to Cardiff by train. I checked online where you need to change trains. You go from Lichfield station to Birmingham New Street and from there to Cardiff Central. But when I asked Yasmin she said the train journey would be a bit long and she wouldn't mind going by train if we stayed over the night. I wasn't against that, but then when we checked hotels they were all very expensive! WHY is it so hard to get to Cardiff? Anyway, what are you lot getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

Sorry you are stuck today..hope that pain eases up..do you have maybe a heating pad or cool gel pad to lay on it? To travel from Lichfield, England to Cardiff, Wales using public transportation, you have several options: Train: You can take a train from Lichfield City to Cardiff Central. The journey takes around 3 hours and 30 minutes, with tickets starting from £24.50 . Bus: Another option is to take a bus from Cardiff to Lichfield. This can be a cost-effective way to travel, with prices starting at £28 and the journey taking approximately 4 hours . Both train and bus services provide convenient and affordable ways to reach Cardiff from Lichfield, offering flexibility in terms of budget and travel time.

Thank you very much. It feels a bit better now. The Voltarol really helps.. I was told there is no direct route from Lichfield to Cardiff, you have to make at least one change along the way. I was told Lichfield to Birmingham New Street and then Birmingham New Street to Cardiff city is an option, but I think there is a direct route from Tamworth to Cardiff. (Tamworth is where my friend Yasmin lives.)

I am so sorry you are in pain. I hope the Voltarol will help feeling better. Have you checked if you can find a package "train and hotel"? Sometimes those are cheaper than booking separately.

@sharonelton - We often receive a flyer with travel proposals with the train and one or two nights at the hotel combined. I hope you can find a good deal.

What a shame. I think you need to try to plan further ahead, that always makes train travel cheaper especially if you can go at an unpopular time. The same goes for accommodation, Travelodge has rooms in Cardiff Central quite reasonable (£31) at certain times.

It seems the hotels are cheaper if you go now, this minute! Because when I checked the website it started going up in price from like NEXT WEEK!

If you keep trying, the universe will eventually give in and let you go to Cardiff. Good luck.

I’m sorry you couldn’t go when you have wanted to so much. That is incredibly disappointing. Your friend has fibromyalgia, I believe, which I have as well. I bet she wishes you guys could do it too! I remember the day day my friend and I were supposed to leave for a much anticipated trip, the government shut down everything because of Covid back in 2020. That very day. We ended up going two years later, and hopefully, you will be going on your trip before you know it.
