One of the topics I have found interesting since I was a senior in high school are names. I even did an article for our school newspaper on interesting names. My high school English teacher (they call it language arts now) told us one time of a friend of hers whose last name was Lear. They had a daughter and gave her the name of Crystal Shanda. So her full name was Crystal Shanda Lear. I went to college with a girl whose name was Holly Wood. So, the other day a friend of mine got a new granddaughter. Her daughter had named the baby after an old television show character. Anyone remember the show Murphy Brown? Yep, the poor baby was named after that show. There have been other interesting names I have come across over the years. Soap opera names are very popular also, as well as other television and movie characters. How about you? Do you know of any people who have named their babies very interesting names?

Crystal Shanda Lear takes the cake. I knew someone whose uncle was named Kermit. Michael Jackson named one of his children Blanket. Have a good day.

My oldest daughter was named after a Fishing boat...The Tiki 7. Her dad was going to go to work fishing on that boat. We didn't want to name her after a family member, but actually ended up doing that anyway. We started out with the name of Tiki Rose..but to me it sounded like a dancer in a bar name. We ended up with Tiki Marie...Which made her middle name..named after my aunt, my mother, and his mother..all 3 were named Mary. LOL

I graduated with Sandy Beach and I have an ancestral relative named Rose Budd. My dad wanted my middle name to be Olivia so my initials would be WOW.

I think some parents think it is funny to give their children strange names.

Many. It seems to be a thing. I am not sure it is all good. But it's a thing for sure.
