In the late 30s Nazis began condemning smoking with propaganda with posters and health warnings. Soldiers had restrictions and were only allowed 6 cigarettes per day. No smoking was allowed in the party offices, public transit, or bomb shelters. A tax was also imposed.
Smoking was seen as a genetic poison by the Nazis. Female smokers were seen as unfit for marriage or motherhood. It was also seen as a habit associated with Jews, gypsies, blacks, and intellectuals.

@LadyDuck .......I would find it so horrible not to be able to breathe. Whatever it was I had this last time one of the symptoms was not being able to breathe. It was scary.

Well smoking is bad, but who knows what the real reasoning behind that was.

I didn't know that. I know a few years ago there was a campaign about smoking in movies, but suddenly now they are again which I find strange.

People don't go by the rules. Sad that they can't wait two hours for a cig.

The only good thing that they did except for the view of smoking females. Have a good day.
