Police in Colorado capture an emu running on a road / myLot

Loose emu captured and returned to his owner in Colorado.

Lake Charles, Louisiana

Weld County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) deputies and animal control officers answered an emergency call about an emu that had escaped from his home in Weld County Colorado last Tuesday. Thanks to the efforts of the responding officers who used their training to capture the emu who was on a county road, the captured emu to a fence that belonged to a resident in the area. A passerby then told the animal control officers and the deputies that the emu belonged to local resident Andrew Leffler who was then contacted by the authorities that his lost emu would be reunited with his emu named Buddy the same day. Well, of all the emus we’ve heard about escaping , at least this one was recaptured.

The poor emu in the picture is going through a molt, or it's trauma. Hope it recovers from running around. Meanwhile, here in my area the emu has been running around for over a year!
