We are a nation of violence.

Another mass shooting today. Jonesboro, Arkansas. It really made me think hard. How many days have we had so far in 2024? January, 31. February, 29. March, it's the 10th right now. So, 70 days so far this year. The horrid reality is that today's shooting is number 73 for mass shootings for this year. I looked up the specifics and it's horrifying. No, I am not offering any solutions, because I don't have any idea in the world how to fix something so horrific, and of such magnitude, as this. I hope for better times for us and for our children and grandchildren. I do know that ignoring it is not going to make it all just go away. The number of children and teens is extremely concerning. There is a chart on it all in this article, which is updated daily. It hurts to know this is where we live now, and as time passes, seems to be expected as the norm, not the exception.

It is a massive problem and I can't imagine what can be done to reverse the situation.

@MarieCoyle There certainly seems to be a lot of division and no too much tolerance there at the moment. Unfortunately, Australia sometimes seems to be heading the same way.

@JudyEv Violence and general discontent seems to be running rampant all over the world. It brings the old Rodney King saying to mind--''Why can't we all just get along?''....I surely do wish we could.

No matter what ideas I have read about that higher up people have suggested, so far I personally cannot see any of the ideas working. We are not a united nation anymore. No one wants to work together.

People are becoming more selfish and without respect.

@MarieCoyle some people see other people as insects, and they think the world revolves around them.

So many have such a sense of entitlement. Such a ''it's all about ME'' attitude.

I wish it were different. It's still strange to me that now this is accepted as normal.

We never have any school shooting. Fighting among students from different schools are normal and that can be easily overcome.

Don’t ever say never. A lot of people think their town or city is very safe and then it happens. I’m glad you haven’t had shootings there.

I know what you mean. I wish I had an answer. However, nothing I can think of would work, or has been tried and failed so badly it it wasn't tried again.

I know. The problem is so big and so complex it’s hard to even know where to start.

Yes, that was terrible, it was a middle school shooting and I remember the kids that did the shooting were very young.
