15 March - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good afternoon from sunny, warm Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. Our high for the day is 53 F, and that's what the current temperature is.
It's been a good day today as some of you know.
Six months ago, I met my doctor for the first time as I changed doctors. I was looking for someone who listened and didn't spend the entire time on his laptop. I found him. My first impression of him was of Pee Wee Herman with his bowtie. It made me smile the first time I met him and did the same today. He was pleased with my weight loss and the A1c report from the health nurse who came to see me. I'm down to 199. So, I'm thankful for a wonderful doctor's visit this morning, and a doctor who is genuinely interested in my health.
I'm thankful for the time I spent with you today. I just noticed we got paid. Woo Hoo! Of course, it's not why I'm here. I've made a lot of friends here and I'm always interested in you and how you and your loved ones are doing, especially if they are on the road to recovery. I'm happy to know you're safe from recent tornadoes that hit a portion of the country. Though, I wish you could send the snow back my way. You know I love snow and you don't. So, send it to me. I'm thankful for the good news stories shared here, and knowing people are interested in helping their neighbor. This is a wonderful site, and I'm glad to be part of it.
I'm thankful for the work I did on New Horizon's, and Faith to Believe.
I'm thankful for the steps I got and my friend who hunted me down while I walked through the building. She's the decorator. She has lots of ideas, and showed me the decorations she'll be using to decorate the second and third floors for Easter. She also has a special Easter Egg hunt planned for the four buildings. It will be a lot of fun. I'm going to help her stuff eggs. There will be prizes.
Okay, that's my day. It was full from the beginning. It's time for me to get off the computer and get a workout on the foot cycle.

I know that I've told you this in the past, but I really enjoy reading your thankful posts.
They are so uplifting.
This one is no different.
Yesterday I was thankful for having my eye exam and that my benefits from work will pay for the 2 pairs of glasses that I ordered.
My husband and I went out for fish and chips last night, something we used to always do on Fridays during Lent. It was nice to go out again, I have less fears about eating out since I have all of my vaccinations.

I'm glad you enjoy the thankful posts. I do them to show people there is always something to be thankful for even when things go terribly wrong.
I'm glad you went out for fish and chips last night. I'm glad you're not fearful about eating out.

I'm thankful that my husband is out of the ICU and in a regular room. Maybe he will be transferred to rehab soon??? Have a good weekend.

I’m so glad you got a doctor worth his salt! I am thankful I get help this morning with this thing I had that was an alarm clock/blue tooth/white noise/phone charger thing I could not figure out. I’m friends with a local university’s IT director, and he came over and helped me out. I then had lunch with a friend at Red Lobster, where she nicely paid. So, it was a great day, other than seeing my dad still sick. Poor guy.

@just4him He actually went to the revival feeling bad, but when he tested negative for Covid and the flu, he went anyway. It seems he lasted as long as he needed to, because he has been so much worse since he got back. He just wants to sleep, but his cough is so bad he can’t. Yesterday, he kept saying, I feel like I’m in a daze. God got him through a blessed revival, but now he’s worse than he was when he left. His wife is still just fine (she went with him).

Sounds like a good day, and that's good to hear about that doctor. Sounds like fun with the easter egg hunt in the buildings and helping with that. Easter is only 2 weeks away now isn't it? Crazy to believe.

Yes, it is crazy to believe it's so close. It was a good day. Lots of fun coming my way as I help her with the eggs for the Easter egg hunt.

Like you, I love snow, so I will not share with you. But if you like, and we get another ice storm, you are more than welcome to come and get that! We are supposed to get some flurries,etc. this coming week. It's back to cold weather today for several days now.

Since it is warm, then cold, then warm...ice is a possibility, I know. Hopefully if we do get ice, it won't last very long.

I'm thankful for the warm day and George's willingness to go to Pet Smart. He seemed a little confused about Chilly's food. He hadn't realized t roughly two months had passed since the last time we were there. It can be easy to lose track of time sometimes. Especially when all you have to look forward to is doctor's appointments, and random trips to the store.
