We have a house helper when mother started to get sick and I am working in my store. We give her 5 days to work do house keeping, cleaning, washing, cooking and more. My father noticed that the work is not that much anymore and we can handle it since we have washing machine and dishwasher so we just gave her 2 days a week work last week. She then say goodbye to us because she find a better job. This is the sad thing of losing my mother, no one will cook breakfast, no one will do the housekeeping. Now before I open the store I need to work in washing the clothes and dishes. I ask my siblings to pay me even just a little because now I am the main housekeeper.

Well, I would not ask for money but I would ask your siblings to help you.

They are not used to helping in the house. It is I and mom who do the household chores most of the time

@averygirl72 You teach them. What if in the future they should take care of a house?

Divide up the chores and let them do some of them. Why should you do them all? Many hands make light work!

@averygirl72 So what would they do if you didn't live there anymore, you got married or moved away? They would have to survive. Most people of average means in the USA just keep their own homes clean and cook their own food. And mom almost always has a job outside of the home. You say they aren't used to helping--but they live there, they eat there...everyone should be helping. It's not just YOUR job, honey.
