Are you afraid of the side effects of any medicine?

Actually, I do have paranoia about taking medications. I do believe that they have adverse effects. I also felt this way when I got two shots of coronavirus vaccines. After having them, my eyes weakened, and now I am using two sets of eyeglasses. What is your take about this concern? Image Credit: mygnp.com

I fear side effects and I only take medications if I really need to take something.

At present, I am just taking only one type of medication as a maintenance for controlling my blood pressure to spike.

@Shavkat - I need no medications right now, my husband needs to take the cardio aspirin daily and a medication for enlarged prostate.

I'm sorry your eyes weakened after taking covid shots. All medications have side effects. I always drink much water when I'm on medication. Though I'm not afraid of medicine.

Since our liver filters all types of medicine, we need to continue to eat healthy food despite having these medications.

@mildredtabitha You are so right. Kidneys also filter medicines that we take.

@Shavkat yes. Even the kidneys. We need to drink plenty water and eat well for the sake of our kidney and liver. Some medicine can bring chronic kidney disease.

Yes, I surely do not like them these days. I only have one medicine but lately it has been giving me some side effects. I do not trust these days. Oh, I also have met people as you say, that have had eye problems after the COVID vaccine. I am sorry you have this.

It is so sad that I had this side effect. I hope it will go back to normal, but it would be impossible for that to happen.

If a doctor recommends a medicine, normally I'd take it.

I agree. Before taking any medicines, it is best to ask advice from a doctor first.

I'm concerned about the side effects. If the doctor prescribed the medications to me, I'll take them.

We cannot do anything but take the advice of a doctor, as he or she prescribed it for us to be better.

I don''t often take medicine. I will take it when it is necessary and therefore I am not very afraid of the side effects. As I know I will not misuse the medicine.

As for me, it is best to consult a doctor before taking any medicines in my system. It is better to be safe than feeling sorry afterwards.

I do not take any medicine but with some medicines I would rather have the disease than the side effects from the medicine.

I'm afraid of side effects too. I used to take medication for menstrual cramps and now I use a portable heating pad. I found out the pills that I was taking could cause liver damage. I was recovering from having hepatitis C when I decided to stop taking those pills. I have also decided that I don't to be put on anti anxiety medicine either because of the side effects.

You are so right. Our liver filters any medicines that we are taking, and even our kidneys can be affected, too. I am glad that you stopped these medicines from entering your system.

I too suffered from fever after coronavirus vaccination. I suffered a lot after stopping my hallucination medication. I lost my hunger and sleep and suffered terrible hands and leg pains.

I also sometimes feel the tingling sensation in my hands. It did not happen before I had these shots of coronavirus vaccines.

I do not have concerns about the side effects of medication, but I am more concern about my body achieving health. My believe is that every medication is for good.

I do think that mild side effects are fine. We just need to be vigilant sometimes.

@grenery8 I agree. We need to take some natural way. Sometimes we lack of fluid that makes us have headache.

@Shavkat if it is small headache instead of something major,i'll embrace italso,it takes time adjusting to therapy meds, for example.
