My friends are preparing another trip.

Dixie and Humberto have some friends who are retired and well off. And they have still the energy to rent campers and travel in campers and stay in campings. I confess that I have never been fond of camping sites, not even when I was 30 and went to Europe for the first time with my husband. Then there was a big recesion in my country and it was better not to work than to work. So we rented our house in dollars and went abroad. My siblings were living in Switzerland then and my brother lent us his car (an ancient VW bug) and my sister lent us an awesome tent with a big inflatable mattress. Up to that, everything was awesome. But even though bathrooms were very clean and there were more than enough showers ( it seemed that in Europe people showered less than in my country) I did not like those bathrooms at all. I discovered that I needed absolute privacy and all the time in the world to use the bathroom. So, years later, when I found out that I could buy a timeshare and stay in a place similar to my house I finally was happy on a vacation. Humberto at this time of his life is half retired and very well off. He has been one of the top people in his field of medicine in my country and has earned quite a lot of money. On the other hand, they don´t spend much in living. They do have some luxuries that they share though and last year they gave in advance their inheritance money to their children. They love to travel but not like rich people. And now they will go to Italy to see the place where Humberto´s ancestors came and then to Croatia. These friends are just perfect for them. They both used to work in the medical field and when they were very young they did their practice together. Humberto has written wonderful chronicles about his trips by sea.
