Ouch. Got the car insurance bill yesterday. Glad I get discounts. That’s life. And speaking of that, here’s another song that has “live” in the title, as we wind down the month of March. Oh, Linda? NO!!!!!!! #6: Living in a House Full of Love - David Houston Ah, you talk about one who’s landed on the trash heap of forgotten singers? This guy had seven #1 hits and won two Grammy awards…and you’ve probably never heard of him. Well, let me tell you how big he was. Barbara Mandrell, you’ve heard of. I mean, she had her own variety show on TV. She was the “unknown girl singer” backing [/i]him[/i] up on hits like “After Closing Time.” That’s what happens. But I remember David Houston. He wasn’t a big favorite, but there are a couple of his songs that are favorites. This is one of them. This was his hit before the hit that made him a household name in 1966, “Almost Persuaded.” (No, not the hymn. ) From there, he racked ‘em up, then vanished and was forgotten. When he died of a brain aneurysm in 1993 it barely made the papers. I remember him, and this great song celebrating finding love. Living in a House Full of Love Written by Glenn Sutton and Billy Sherrill Recorded by David Houston From Almost Persuaded, 1965 Once I lived in a hole like a rabbit:

@FourWalls You know, I met a lady on vacation at the “Awesome 80s” show that might MIGHT know as much about music as you. She and her husband were from Chicago, and she had seen Diana Ross (with her ex, as her husband reminded her), Cher, The Police (twice), WHAM, just George Michael, Air Supply, The Rolling Stones, James Taylor, and Aerosmith in concert. And those are only the people I remember her telling me about; I’m sure she mentioned more. Every song they sang from the 80s she was belting out!

@AmbiePam thanks. I don’t think I know all that much. There are REAL “walking encyclopedias” out there, so I’m more like a pamphlet.

He was bad late in life when he was wearing double hearing aids and couldn’t hit the notes.

Happy and upbeat, not your typical country music fare.

“They” say insurance is a “cooperative,” but I say that’s hogwash. If it’s a cooperative, then I’m not cooperating with them spending a billion dollars of “my money” for naming rights to a sports stadium! Glad you don’t know the song…don’t want to be responsible for the headache.
