Another Trip to Baton Rouge Today

Hubby had another doctor's appointment today with his diabetes doctor. It went well. He got a replacement insulin for his one shot per week insulin that no drug store around and currently get. No clue what is going on with that, but he got another one to try.
After his appointment he wanted to go get something to eat so we headed over to Serops, a Greek and Lebanese Restaurant which was on the way home. I haven't been there since I worked at LSU. However, when we got there, they were closed! According to the sign on the door they were only open until 2 pm on Thursdays.
Next choice and stop was another Greek and Lebanese place in Zachary, LA which is also on our way home. We got the Sampler for 2 people and it was loaded with food. We couldn't eat it all and brought home the leftovers which will be lunch tomorrow. It wasn't as good as I wanted, but passed. We have several places that are excellent and this place is just average. For instance the Chicken was very dry. The rice was way too salty--that was all you tasted--salt.
That's all the excitement here. How was your day?

I can't stand dry chicken & salty foods, so that place
would be off my list 4-sure, & find another place to eat.
I'm on "2 insulins" but right now I'm just using my
long acting 1 that is doing what needs to be done
just by taking it 1 in the morn & 1 at night which I
have told my Dr I was doing & gave her my 14 dy
sugar #'s to prove that doing my long acting insulin
works better than doing my fast insulin every meal.

@kareng That's great to hear, I'm hoping to get off mine
cause I have been keeping it down good enough with just
my long acting I don't need the fast acting like I did at the
beginning, & when I go to see my Dr in April I HOPE she
will take me off the fast acting 1 & leave me on the long
acting 1 if she feels I need to stay on it.

@2ndchances24 Or maybe get reduced dose! That would be good too. However, I am sure you would like to get away from the "stick!"

@RebeccasFarm It was go out of our way and spend extra hour or eat there and get home earlier. So a give and take thing. It's okay. We just won't be going back anytime soon!

It was like that the last time we went. Dry food. The salad was not that good and served warm instead of cold. Uggg. No thanks! We won't be going back.
My hubby actually said we should of stopped at small independent drive through on the way home to get a hamburger. We hadn't passed it yet so didn't think about it. Oh well.

Sorry you food was sub-standard. That's always such a disappointment. My day was OK. Today will be better. I get to see my husband today!!! Have a good weekend.

I had an interesting day. I had lunch at a local BBQ place; and, as I was eating my pulled chicken & cheese baked potato, the manager came over and asked me if I could move my car because the dumpster truck had finally arrived. To compensate he’d give me my meal for free.
Then I went to the VA hospital and picked up my brother’s covid medication that his primary care doctor had called in. I’ll take it to his house (and throw it on the porch from the road ) tomorrow morning.
