Easter Gift - Do you give / exchange gifts for Easter?

I didn’t really know it was a thing.. most gift exchanges are for Christmas, birthdays, and Valentine’s Day. These pretty flowers were gifted to me by a sweet friend. It was so unexpected, I don’t really see Easter as a gift-giving holiday, except for Easter baskets for kids and stuff. Great, now I feel kinda bad but I do love these so much. I knew they were some kind of Daisies, but later on I looked them up to see exactly what kind. These are “Mountain Daisies” also known as African Sun Daisies. They do something very cool. During the day, like in this pic, they turn pink when the sun is shining on them. But then at night, they go all goth on me and turn this very dark shade of purple. They remind me of Halloween flowers at night. Do you exchange gifts and/or cards for Easter? If a person buys you a gift and you didn’t expect it, are you supposed to go out and buy them a gift to say thank you? Should I just drop it already and enjoy the flowers? Thanks guys and hope you all had a great Easter Mon. April 1st Time: 6:53 p.m. The Day After you got the Unexpected Easter Flowers Carnivore Meat-Up in 6 minutes so hurry up and tag this discussion dummy

Those are very pretty flowers. No can't say I ever received or gave a gift on Easter, other than baskets with candy when I was a kid. Maybe you can treat your friend to lunch one day or buy something you know she has been wanting.

It’s a really nice lady who works at a gas station. We got so used to talking because I always went in there for ice. But then I switched places because I found a better place with better coffee, so I’d get my ice there too. After about a month, I returned to my original place to get something else and I could tell she was genuinely upset that I hadn’t been in there for a while. So now I get the coffee from the other place, and get my ice from where she is so we can still have our little chats and that’s how I somehow ended up with the flowers from her. I guess because I returned. Thanks Dena Gonna maybe buy her a pop or coffee or something

Some people do enjoy gift giving whenever they can find an excuse. Like Christmas, Easter has become comerialized. It's a way for stores to get some boosts in sales. While I haven't personally done gift exchanges, it's not totally unheard of.

Pretty flowers and cute vase. No, I don't give gifts for Easter. But I did tell my cousin on Easter that I am going to make something, but it will be awhile before I make it.

@Melanie_Marie It's arts and crafts. She is having a baby girl and she has decorated everything in dinosaurs so there is a new craft I want to try called needle felting. So my idea is make her a dinosaur.

When my children were small, they had grandparents and great grandparents and aunts and uncles nearby that bought them way too much candy for Valentines Day, Easter, and Halloween. So I usually made cookies for them instead. For Easter I got them a stuffed animal or a small toy car for the boys, and a book.

Yeah, that makes sense. It’s usually stuff for the kiddies when it comes to Easter. Can’t say I’ve received any kind of Easter gift since I was maybe.. 12 ? Something like that. Until now. Thank you Marie And love the book idea :)

@Melanie_Marie I was the mom who always provided books, and read to my children. They all knew how to read before they went to school. I buy books for my grandchildren for gifts, too. They all seem to love to read.

@MarieCoyle That’s really good to hear. My Grandma taught me to read, write, type, and address envelopes before I went to school. Typing was the easiest, I may have learned it faster than writing. I struggled with the envelopes. Don’t know why. Thanks Marie Reading is where you gain wisdom, so you gave them the advantage ahead of time. :)

Pretty flowers from your friend! I don't expect to "exchange" gifts for Easter, but I will give out flowers or candies if we see family or friends. For Hubby and kids, I do make sure they have some Easter goodies to wake up to .

Pretty flowers. We do not exchange gifts for Easter, but there is the tradition to offer a chocolate Easter egg or a chocolate Easter bunny to kids.

Oh no, we don't usually do gift giving during Easter. Our Easter activity is usually going to Church and Easter egg hunt, crafts, usually for children. Sometimes we do celebrate by eating outside or cooking good food at home with the family together. It's not necessarily expected that you must reciprocate with a gift especially if you didn't anticipate receiving one in the first place. But gratitude is always appreciated. .You can thank the person sincerely, perhaps with a handwritten note or give something to them some other time or some other occasion. Those are really nice flowers, enjoy them.

Thank you, I will. They are very unique with the day/night color-switch trick.
