Dusted off the old DVD player.

Over a year ago, George and I bought a DVD player. There was a movie George wanted, that I couldn't find a digital copy of. So I bought the physical DVD off of Amazon. So, that meant buying a dvd player. Well, due to today's storms, my internet went down. So that meant the t.v. wasn't going to work. George didn't want to go to bed or sit in silence, so I pulled out a movie and popped it in the DVD player.

I have not used the DVD player in a long time. I have one lying unused for years and some old DVDs too. We have so many nostalgic memories around that DVD player. I don't want to get rid off it.

I think the reason we got rid of our first one, was because it broke. But we replaced it two years ago. Came in handy last night.

@kaylachan It feels good when something not used frequently comes handy at times. You don't regret keeping it safe

@arunima25 I just kept it connected to the t.v. The rest was cake.

I haven't found much need for DVD's because I can find almost anything on just about any streaming channel out there. It comes in handy in a pinch.

@LadyDuck We just don't have as much space for such things. I'm glad things worked out. The downside to a dvd player, is having to get up and pop in a dvd.

@kaylachan We bought several DVD through Amazon during the past years, this is why we keep our DVD and often we look at those old videos.

I haven’t used my DVD player in years. It needs a cable that quit working, and I never got it replaced. Meanwhile, dozens of DVDs are stored away. Now that you mention it, there are some shows I can only watch on DVD I’d like to see again.

Might need to replace that cable, then.

We can't use our DVD players anymore because they need updated cables to go along with our new TVs. Maybe some day I'll look into that.

We would use ours once a year, but last year obviously we couldn't.

I wish I hadn't gotten rid of my old DVD player and the movies. Certainly would come in handy for times when the internet goes out. Glad you had one for George to use

Yeah. I wish I'd picked a better movie, but the DVD player works pretty well. By the time the movie ended, my internet came back.

@kaylachan at least you have an alternate solution if you lose power. The rare times our power or internet goes out the quiet is really unsettling.

@Marilynda1225 Well, if we lost power nothing would work except for my phone. But yes, it did come in handy last night.
