Accommodations have changed again; something that I’ll delve into later or probably tomorrow. But because of that I was actually able to cook dinner. Something I haven’t been able to do in months. Granted it wasn’t anything amazing, but it was pretty good. And as always, remember fed is best.
We stopped by the dollar tree or as the rest of the world calls it now the dollar twenty five tree. I had to get some dog food to drop off for Rebel and while at dollar tree I decided I wanted to make grilled ham and cheese.
So I got :
Bar S Honey Ham $1.25
Hawaiian Sliced Bread $1.25
Borden American Cheese Slices $1.25
Butter $1.25
I used the follow (approximate ) amounts for dinner tonight.
Ham $0.75
Bread $.25
Cheese $0.50
Butter $0.25
I also made broccoli cheddar rice and cheese sticks but those were in the freezer so I’m
Not counting the hat for the cost of dinner.
So our cost for dinner was $1.75 for dinner for both of us or $0.87 ish each.
Again wasn’t a super healthy meal but it was tasty cheap and filling and these days, that’s all I ask for.
How much was your dinner? Did you cook or order in or go out?

Does that mean that’s what you ate, or that’s just what was cooked?

Today I made a fine dinner for myself. I hadn´t been eating much after I had visitors so today I made a delicious pork stew. And I made again the same lettuce salad I had made for my visitors. So it was a treat. And not too expensive. I have stew for tomorrow.

I don’t know what’s for dinner tomorrow. Haven’t thought that far ahead.
I may just do it where whatever PayPal earnings I can cash out tomorrow that is what we spend on dinner. That might be a fun little budget challenge.

A neighbor had left over food so they brough it to us. Pork steak which was really good. They do not eat left overs.

Must be nice to have an unlimited food budget. That does sound good.

We had lunch out with friends so we had a poached egg for our dinner. I guess that would have been pretty cheap too.

We just don't eat out hardly ever, unless it's for a family birthday or some such event. We had a good baked Cornish Hen and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, and green beans. Son asked for that, he has had such a poor appetite due to illness, I went all out and made him what sounded good. Luckily, I had the hens and everything else. Your dinner was fine, as you said, it tasted good and it filled you up! That's what really matters.

the price of food now days is out the window
I don't bother with how much it cost to eat cause
I already know what we eat is as CHEAP as we
can get it, we mainly just snack on easy to fix
meals like a easy grilled ham & cheese or
a bowl of cereal or a heat & eat berito.
