What is that exactly? I have no clue. It has something to do with helping ELL (English language learners/English as a Second Language) students to be more successful in their classes. There are five 2.5 hour after work training sessions over the course of the next 2 months. They aren't mandatory. This is voluntary training and at the end of it we will be certified and be paid almost $500. I have been picking up tutoring and class coverages to earn some extra $$. I've even sold some of my beloved Tiffany & Co. silver jewelry. When I saw this opportunity I immediately signed up. It's not like I have anything particularly exciting to do after work. On the days of the training I can reschedule any tutoring that I usually do. Every little bit helps!

Best of luck to you and I know you'll get that certificate. I was never a licensed teacher but I was an English as a Second Language Instructor in Latvia, Gave private lessons at my house,

but you were presumably teaching whatever language is spoken in Latvia to Latvian students. We have students from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, China, Japan, Philippenes, Ukraine, France, Syria, Pakistan, etc. I wouldn't be able to communicate with all of those students as I don't know all of those languages.

@NJChicaa that is true I speak fluent English and Latvian. However, I have heard of people instructing others in English with no knowledge of the language the people speak. You might find this interesting
Many aspiring ESL teachers fear that they won’t be able to teach English without knowing another language, but that's not true! Learn more.

You know I'll write about it! It isn't about nailing or punishing or denying that we have students who can't or who barely speak English in the district. It is about helping them to learn in their classes.

If I didn’t know the language of where I was living very well, I think I’d be very eager for this class. I hope they are ready to learn, but maybe I’m thinking too idealistically.

Language these days. There is something more correct to say than "homeless" people. I think its 'unsheltered'. I'm glad you will get more money and not have to do hard labor for it.

No it has nothing to do with their living situation. It has to do with them having limited English. I think the "sheltered" has to do with trying to make sure they are included in lessons and assisting them with ways to learn the language.

Maybe it'll open up other tourting programs you can offer for more cash. Plus the 500 is a plus.
