Do you keep the original box for warranty when you buy something new?

I bought different things in time and I have all the original boxes. I am not sure if I should keep them or throw them away. I have too many things in my home. I kept all the boxes because they still have a warranty. I prepared myself for the future. I bought everything I needed when I worked part-time. And this made me feel better. Do you keep the original boxes for the warranty?

I throw the boxes when the warranty is expired. It happened that something broke and I was refunded, but I had to bring the item back in the original box.

Yes, this happened to me too. A monitor broke and I didn't have the box. They asked for the original box. I was lucky that they accepted the monitor even without that box.

@dya80dya I but a sticker on the box "throw after" and I write the date. Once the item is no more covered by warranty I throw.

Yes, especially if they are expensive items. It doesn't have to be for the warranty itself, maybe one day you move or want to sell the thing. Or I just forget the warranty expired and that's my excuse.

It's true. If we want to sell the thing we need the box.

Not for that long.usually just until I know something is working. I keep receipts a bit longer.

My receipts are online. Now they don't send papers.

@dya80dya Print out your important receipts in case you need them later. Sometime, you might be glad of it.

When I got rid of the box the things needed a repair. It happened with my monitor.

I will do the same. I wanted to throw everything away. I did this in the past and I regretted it. The things needed their original box and they needed a repair.

@dya80dya i went through that with my glasses. actually, my mum threw the papers where it said how bad is my sight. i went private and they gave me new glasses but i feel they weren't good as my old ones. so, yes, learning in a hard way, aren't we?
