Never again - till the next time.

I resolved yet again this afternoon to never set foot in another airplane - it’s a foul experience. It was a short flight today, just 45 minutes skimming like a stone on top of storm clouds before having to descend through them in a tense, hushed atmosphere. This was about my 200th such resolution, so I’m not very good at keeping them. The enterprise was successful however. I was transported from England to Ireland swiftly and effectively, allowing me to pee in two jurisdictions 90 minutes apart. But again the airport experience was nothing short of vile. Loud, bouncy music emanating from a variety of “retail outlets” is so disheartening, as is badly made coffee served in paper cups. Having to listen to loud, boring conversations bellowed into phones - do people lose all sense of decency as soon as they take a phone call? Apparently so. It was particularly excruciating in the gentlemen’s facilities when a well turned out lout in a business suit kept up a conversation on his phone while pointing Percy at the porcelain. Anyway I’m home, and although the memory of the horrors and indignities are fresh in my might, I’m already planning another trip in spite of myself.
