An eight year old Labrador Retriever named Molly is being praised as a savior for alerting her owner in Rockville Maryland on Monday by scratching the door. A fire started in the exterior power meter which started in the basement and spread through the home's floorboards when the owner of the dog Charles Miller said that his wife was in the upper floor of the home when the fire started and the fire alarms did not alert her and her grandchild about the house on fire that may have started when the electric power went out in the neighborhood. The Montogomery Fire And Rescue quickly arrived to put out of the fire quickly. Even though the Miller home was severely damaged to the point where the Miller family has been displaced, they are grateful to be alive and well thanks to the efforts of their dog to alert them of the danger of a house fire. I'm glad the dog alerted them to the fire, and they could get out. I'm sorry the house is a loss, and they are displaced.

There must be hundreds of people who have been warned of danger by their pets.

An alert dog saved the day, and the quick arrival of the fire crew must have played a part too. I hope the dog was rewarded with a nice steak that night.
