In India papaya are eaten both as fruits and also vegetables. As vegetables they are cut into small pieces and cooked with potato. They are light and good for the liver as well. Bengalies eat the curry with rice which is suitable for summer.

I enjoy my curries. Am not sure if I have had mango in a curry, but it sounds inviting to me.

thanks The Horse the raw mangoes in bengal are used to make pickle or solution. In summer that is good for health. The ripe mangoes are eaten as fruits

Here we regard the papaya as a fruit mainly. Usually it will make as a dessert. It's new for me to use it to cook with curry and rice.
