I have always been a loner. I didn't have a lot of friends, nor was I a social butterfly. I was very shy when younger and introverted. I often felt like there was something wrong with me. But, over the years I have been happy with living inside my head and it doesn't bother me as much. I recently listened to a video on a YouTube channel called "Brainy Dose" concerning Facts About Those Who Like to be Alone. All of it made so much sense.
People who spend much time alone with their thoughts enjoy abstract thinking and complex problem-solving skills. They want to learn without external prompts. They are able to turn times of solitude into times of personal growth. Those who find solous in their own company are able to handle uncertainties calmly with inner strength which reflects inner strength. These people have highly individual value systems, great integrity, and a strong sense of self. People who spend time alone are often driven by an inner passion. They pursue things for personal fulfillment and the satisfaction of seeing personal progress.
The chaos of the outer world fades away revealing a world of simplicity. People who seek out solitude often exhibit an appreciation for minimalism. Not only in their lifestyle but in their surroundings as well. Quality or quantity. This gives them a life of clarity.
Solitary individuals often develop a keen sense of intuition. Being away from the opinions and thoughts of others lets them connect with their own thoughts and feelings. This profound internal connection heightens their sensitivity and helps them to make decisions that are truly aligned with their true selves.
This all sounds so typical of how I feel and I didn't really understand these things until I saw this video. I had been living much of it and not realizing it.
Are you a solitary person? Does any of this ring true to your life?

Sounds like me. I usually had a few friends but wasn't real social. Loved to read and keep to myself.

Yes, I love being a loner. “Quality,” indeed.

I've always preferred spending time with me, myself and I... or the people in books.

I'm not a big minimalist either. I like stuff but I have downsized too.

I'm a bit of an introvert and a homebody; but I don't like to be alone. I've been alone since February 1 with my husband in the hospital and rehab; and I don't like it! Have a good weekend.

I don't mind being alone for a while. Not all the time. I hope your husband is doing well and can come home soon. You have a nice weekend too.
