Received an obnoxious parent email today

It has been awhile since I've received a nastygram. I guess I was overdue. I've already had a parent conference with the student's parents. The mother was hostile during it but my supervisor wouldn't let her keep going. Nothing about the student's effort, work ethic, or even level of paying attention has changed so he has continued to fail every marking period. There was a test on Friday and guess what? He failed. His mother emailed me asking to see the test and the answer sheet. She then said she actually wanted ALL of the tests and answer sheets from the entire year. Wait--WHAT? It is almost May. Did she seriously think I still had tests from months ago? I responded politely that I would be happy to send the most recent test and answer sheet home but I didn't have any of the previous ones as they had long since been recycled. This morning I got to work to find her reply that said something like "I just knew you would say you didn't have all of the tests and answer sheets". Um like yeah. Duh. Why would I keep them? I forwarded the email exchange to my supervisor and then checked in with him later in the day. He 100% has my back. I told him I am done dealing with her. What I find funny about this stupid situation is that she wanted the test as if she knows anything about biology and would know what the correct answers were. Sure lady you tell me if insect wings and bird wings are homologous or analagous and if they exhibit morphological convergence or divergence. I printed it out the powerpoint notes and cross referenced it with the test. I circled where all of the answers could be found and which question they went with. She can't say I'm not helpful.

She exhibits the reactions of many parents. Her son is the be-all and end-all of her life, He can do no wrong, And raising a child this way is where it all goes wrong, Some day she'll be defending her "baby" to the police and saying he was not the one in whatever happened,

What happened to the days when the parents would side with the teacher and tell their offspring to work harder?!

At least your supervisor backed you up dealing with the parent of an angry student.

Times have changed? I always backed up the teacher. That method must have worked, I raised 2 who were valedictorians for high school and collegeā€¦and two more high honor students. Parents need to listen to the teachers!!

She just won't accept that her child is failing due to lack of effort. Have a good day.
