We Got a Heavy Rainstorm, Last Night

We were both awaken last night, by a heavy rainstorm hammering on the roof! The accumulation left puddles on both sides of road, in front of our home. I have to be careful, driving around these waterholes.
Now, it's not raining, but the potholes along the driveway are filled with water. We had quite an accumulation, during the night.
It's maybe 55 degrees F today, not too cold to suit me. I like this weather!
Jay had an appointment in the city, but I stayed home to get some things done.

We had an absolute gullywashing rain two nights ago. It came down so hard and fast. Lots of water in a very short time. Hard to even see across the road. But I like it that way, I hate days and days of mournful drizzle. I want it to actually RAIN!

My Dad used to always say that. I often heard “It’s a gullywasher!” When I was a little girl! I love that word.

The level in Lake Huron was down a little bit. So, I guess the heavy rain makes up for this:)

Actually, Lake Huron's water level was down. The reason is because we had very little snow this winter. I guess the rain will make up for this lack of water.

That's one thing I'm glad about. After it rains, the water soaks in, quickly. Our ground must be in need of water.
