A senior citizen donates money to a local volunteer firefighter

Sam Sloan who is a resident of Calhoun Missouri showed compassion for the Calhoun Volunteer Fire Department decided to make a donation of $500,000 dollars from money that he possessed after he retired from the cattle business. Sam had a meeting with Calhoun Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mark Hardin in April to meet with Mark for breakfast when Sam found out that the volunteer firefighter department was on the verge of closing their fire station since they had to borrow money from other fire stations. Sam who is 91 years of age learned with his meeting with Mark that the fire department needed funds. Mark mentioned that the money that Sam donated will be used to buy a new fire engine and make Sam a honorary fire chief as his reward. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/...

I guess, at 91, Sam thought it was time to do something worthwhile with some of his money, and such a gesture will benefit society in a good way here too. I wonder if Sam also paid for the breakfast?
