A toy grenade scares students in Florida / myLot

I am sure that the student who attends Oak Park Elementary School in Titusville Florida will receive a lecture from his or her parents or guardians over bringing to a classroom a toy grenade on Friday morning.. When the incident happened, school officials did issue a short shelter in place until school officials determined the grenade was only a toy. Thank goodness no one was hurt in the incident since it was the last day of the school year before summer vacation is to begin. LInk is clickorlando.com/news/local/202...

Maybe the school should have security check each of the students' bags before entering in order to prevent those kinds of incidents from happening.

That incident should be taken seriously. The kid who did that needs to do something to make up for that nasty joke- make that kid help out at an animal shelter etc. NO on that being any kind of a joke.

I hope that the student who did this incident gets a wake up call that bringing weapons inside a classroom is dangerous.

That is really true since with the news dealing with the tragic school shooting in Texas a few years ago, this incident could have been ugly if someone was hurt.
