Is there anything really special that you are looking forward to this summer? Well l can't wait for my best loved sporting event the Olympics which will be held in Paris from July to August. Wish l could be there in person, but not to worry l will have a front seat at every event through my trusted smart tv. Any special plans for the summer? Pixabay image.

Just going to visit some family in another state. I like the Olympics, but they seem to last too long

My favorite event is Track and field - not too crazy about the other sports.

@Kandae11 I had turmeric growing in our garden but the gardener misplaced the rhizomes that had to be planted this year. I bought some and they are all showing shoots. In a few months I should be able to dig out the turmeric.

I went to the Olympics in Sydney, Australia back in 2000. It was pretty cool, and Paris would be too. I really hope they can keep everyone safe from yahoos. I look forward to the gymnastics, swimming, and diving. This summer, I’m not really looking forward to anything in particular.

@LadyDuck Wow! I suppose the problem in the middle East is to blame for that. How sad for those athletes who train so hard in preparation for this huge global event....Also sad for innocent people who are dying in wars everywhere.

@Kandae11 I had my second nerve block this morning and had five glorious hours of being pain free. Well, in my back anyway. I still hurt several other places, but at least I don't have to wonder if I'm dying.

@1creekgirl You must have been very grateful for those five hours, but what happens afterwards? How often can you take the nerve block?

I am not that interested in Olympics as well as when I was a child. I like to watch fair competition and it concerns about the sports only.

Summer for me brings very many sad memories, So I just keep busy as usual but this summer I am planning to make at least some trips to the beach to cool off since it is only three blocks from me. If anything I will catch up on some Olympic events on YouTube,

I understand your feelings, but the beach should be an ideal spot to relax and do something you like - swim, read, picnic. Major sports and other networks should be carrying the events live - youtube as well. Track and field events are my favorite.

I sometimes think you don't really miss much by not attending in person. No travelling to get there, no queueing, no being too far away to see really well. There will be some great competitions for sure.
