NCIS leaving Netflix

I recently decided to binge watch NCIS from the very beginning. I was happy to learn that fifteen seasons are available on Netflix, which we subscribe to. I am now almost halfway into season three, only to learn that close to the end of June the first eleven seasons won’t be on Netflix anymore. I’m no longer happy. Why would they do that to such a popular show? And what am I gonna do? I definitely won’t be able to watch nine seasons by end of the month. And I don’t want to subscribe to paramount+ just to watch one show. I guess there’s always tv reruns. But that will be hard to do. If I set my DVR to record the show on a channel where it reruns it will record a lot of episodes and I won’t be able to watch them fast enough before space on the DVR gets full.

Netflix has contracts with providers that only allow them to air or have a show for a certian ammount of time. If they don't renew the contract, they remove the product from their site. Shows like NCIS, you can try to find on other streaming services, such as Pluto t.v. or any free-to-watch streaming channel. I agree, I wouldn't subscribe to a service just for one show.

I wonder why they did not renew. Though supposedly they are only removing seasons 1-11, not all 15. And seasons 16 & 17 will be on there.

@lovebuglena Probably because they didn't order them all at the same time so there's still an ongoing contract for the remainders.

I have access to Paramount+ for free because I subscribe to Walmart+. It’s the cheapest way to get my groceries delivered and they include a free subscription to Paramount+. Any chance you want to join Walmart+? I never watched that streaming channel, so mine goes to waste.

I never watched it as it aired. Only reruns when I caught them on TV. I can't believe that I waited this long to finally decide to watch the show from the very beginning. I could have already been done with all the seasons that were on Netflix.

It's so annoying when this happens. It happened with a series I was watching. I finally gave up watching it.

Maybe they didn't like the terms of the contract and chose not to renew it.

@lovebuglena i think companies like that like searching for small and irrelevant details so, you might be right.

You will have to search for it on another service. It sounds like the contract wasn't renewed. Good luck!!

I doubt it can be watched online without paying for a streaming service subscription. But what I loved about Netflix is that with FIOS you can watch it directly from your TV. With another streaming service I'd have to watch the stuff on my laptop, which I don't want to do.

Where I live, they had only some NCIS seasons. But they said from the first that we would not be able to see them all.

Eleven seasons are. Seasons 12-15 will remain it seems. And seasons 16-17 are gonna be there soon.

That makes no seance to do that to a popular show like NCIS.

I agree. It was there this whole time, even though it is now also on paramount+. Why get rid of it?

Enjoy NCIS. I watched it for a while back in Latvia where it was popular and dubbed in Latvian, I have a list of favorite TV shows and am planning to start buying them when I have gift cards for Amazon, Jsut figure then I can always watch when I want to. I have the entire ER collection and have gone through that 3 times,

@lovebuglena my problem is that I am subject to purchasing when I have gift cards, I cannot afford to have subscription fees taken from me every month, I already have 27 taken for autoship Chewy for cats liter and 9.99 for Vocal Media for my membership and just cannot afford to add on more to be taken other wise won't have anything left for other things that I might need in a month, I know its complicated but that is my life, As it is I can only order groceries once a month,

I do not have a DVD player so have no where to watch DVDs. Plus, buying all the seasons is going to be expensive. May as well subscribe to paramount+. Will be way cheaper.

That happens a lot. I subscribed to Hulu to watch Lost again....but I lucked out. They had a Black Friday special of 99 cents per month for a year.

If only I had started watching it on Netflix a while ago. I would hve already been done with all the seasons they have on there. I wonder, if you subscribe to a streaming service can it only be for a year?

It will be cheaper to just subscribe to paramount+. Buying the whole series on DVD will be hundreds of dollars. And I don't have a DVD player so can't watch DVDs.

Oh, come on. That show was recommended to me. I was going to watch that after I'm done with Law and Order.
