It’s supposed to be a hot one here today. And listen, if you ever hear a southerner say, “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity,” believe them. It’s not supposed to stay like this, just a taste of summer. Speaking of summer, let’s go back to 1964 for some super fun summertime music! California Sun - The Rivieras Hooray for Henry Glover! Not only did he write one of my all-time favorite country songs (“Blues, Stay Away From Me”), he wrote this!!! Glover made history as the first black executive at a white-owned business: he was the VP at Cincinnati’s King Records. This was featured in Good Morning, Vietnam (and probably a lot of other movies that I didn’t see ). It’s one of those great, innocent-time songs. Picky Wedia says it was also the last bonafide hit by an American act before Beatlemania took over. Yeah, yeah, yeah? It’s still a summertime musical treat.
