Kern County Animal Control Officer Johnston who is female needed the help from employees of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) to rescue a cat who was atop of a utility pole 50 feet above the ground on Thursday May 23 in California.
The utility workers of PG&E used a ladder to rescue the female cat who had been up on the top of the utility for a few days when the cat was rescued and taken down to the ground safely.
The female was named Electra by the Kern County Animal Services (KCAS) who will Electra up for adoption on Saturday.
Hopefully the cat will find a new home soon to a loving family in California.

Always amazes me how the get up but cannot get down, My cat in Latvia climbed apple and pine trees and always got up and back down with no problems,

That is true that a lot of cats climb up utility poles and have a hard coming down.
