Hey y'all.
It's just after ten o clock, and I just got tone making the cake from Steel Magnolias.
If you are a good self respecting southern woman, I don't have to explain any further. But in case you aren't.
It's the cake that Dolly Parton talks about in the movie, a cup of sugar, a cup of flour and a can of fruit cocktail.
I used peaches instead of fruit cocktail- but it turned out pretty good.

Here in the US, my grandmothers both referred to this cake as a ''dump cake'' as you just dumped it all in a bowl and stirred it up.

@MarieCoyle Yeah there's one I used to make with whitee box cake mix, mandarain oranges and something else, it was called a pea picking cake or something.

@MarieCoyle Yep I found the recipe.
Well as close to it as I'll ever get. My exes grandma gave me her recipe, but that was 11 or 12 years ago and a lot of moves ago.
This cake is light, cool and delicous. Especially good in the summertime. It is also a pretty cake.

Cuppa, cuppa, cuppa...
My grandma used to make those cakes. Don't forget to add the ice cream, because of course you know that it's just in need of MORE sugar, haha!
