Thanks to the actions of a concerned person who heard the whimpering of a dog that fell down an abandoned well in the middle of the woods on Tuesday morning. Firefighters from the Goochland Fire-Rescue arrived on the scene and they saw the dog named Gibbs standing in shallow water 30 feet down. The first responders used a tripod and haul system to rescue Gibbs when the Henrico County Division of Fire took over the rescue mission. After Gibbs was rescued by the firefighters Gibbs was taken to the Partner Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center where Gibbs was given a medical examination and he had no serious injuries from his fall into the well. My best guess is that Gibbs was reunited with his family. The authorities did their part to close the abandoned well to avoid another tragic event in the future. Link is kutv.com/news/offbeat/d...

I think people need to be more responsible and cover wells and such.

So glad that the dog was rescued, The wells are dangerous and they should take some time to inspect places they know are wells and close them up,
