Good morning, friends. I woke up early and I turned on the TV. There were a documentary on climate warming. I still don´t understand why politicians (and all of us) don´t do more about it and go on fighting about stupic small things while the planet is changing. Earth has changed many times. I know that. But human beings will not survive just as dinosaurs didn´t survive to another change. Are you doings something about it? Or are you using fuel and plastics as we did years ago? I still have my gas heater. And just as I smoked guiltily the last years I smoked, I now think about how could I stop using the heater so much. The fires and the floods surround us. What will we do?

Yes, the planet is changing. I've started making slight changes, but still use plastic bags when I go shopping.

I use bags made of cloth but when the shoppers bring groceries they use lots of plastic. And soda bottles are still made of plastic so now I´m drinking filtered and boiled tap water.

Lately I have read that scientists have found that even we have bits of plastic inside us. And it is making us ill.

@wolfgirl569 I stopped buying water from plastic bottles after I first heard about that but I´m sure that even the filtered water I drink from the Brita has plastic.

Many politicians still don't even believe in climate change. When you have to start clear down at base level it is a long row to hoe. Many are so stuck in their beliefs and stubborn too. I am glad I don't drive anymore. Fuel is a headache and something that needs to change. Plastics is another matter. I am trying to cut down on such usage but still am in some areas. We are getting better though. Trying to keep a lot out of the landfill as well. The fires around here every year scare me. We don't flood as badly as we burn around here.

Lately we have had big fires and floods here. We are not used to that. And we have the south pole nearby so we can see how the eternal ice is melting.

I just try to be respectful toward the environment. I use my heater and AC as little as I can, I don't litter, etc.

I´m sure you are. But there´s a lot more that can be done. In my country they are starting to recycle many things that weren´t recycled a few years ago. But the amount of plastic waste in the ocean in the size of Australia. And in the Atacama desert, they throw away huge loads of unsold clothes each season.

@TheHorse Great stores at the end of the season fill containers and send them to pollute the Atacama desert. If they gave away the clothes they´d run out of business.

When you buy vegetables or fruit here, you're expected to put them into plastic bags. I reuse them as bin liners but I should really buy some reusable bags instead.

Here too. But now they don´t give big bags when you pay. And if you want a special bag that is not plastic you have to pay for it. At first I forgot the bags at home. Now I´m used to taking my bags everywhere.

@JudyEv It took me some time though. Now I take more bags than my needs as I usually buy more than what I should.

The ice sheets are in danger of coming loose. With the size of them, the ocean levels could rise and flood places like the Keys and New Orleans. Have a good week.

The ice in the Antarctica is coming loose, going to the sea and melting. I know. The Antártica is in my country.

@TheHorse The ice is something you can see and it is not something to laugh about. And so are the fires and the floods. The results are something that we are not prepared to believe.

The planet is certainly changing. It's sad to see the changes harming wildlife. When I go to a store myself I use cloth bags.

Earth has been slowly changing in last 2 decades. Politicians would not do anything as any moves to save earth would mean unemployment, immediate stoppage of fossil fuels etc, all impacting the economy. Personally, I do carpooling whenever possible. I am trying my best to reduce my carbon footprint. Even working from home helps in reducing carbon footprint. Thanks for sharing!
