I just got a call, telling me somebody had lodged a complaint against me. I was given a number to call, along with a reference number. I have no idea who could have lodged a complaint, the don't know anything I've done to anyone. It's sort of scary. Have you ever heard of this before. The first time I ever heard of it.

The Horse @TheHorse ~"Budol" scam, "Nabudol" got scammed or swindled
Etymology. From slang in Hiligaynon budol-budol (“swindling; chubby; cute”), an allusion to the Budol-Budol Gang which specializes in conning victims to give their money or possessions, possibly from English boodle (“illegally acquired money”).
Hiligaynon or Ilonggo is one of many regional dialects spoken in the Phil. Tagalog or Filipino is the national language.

It's a scam. I heard about one the other day that a woman was being called by the police because she supposedly had missed an appointment to testify in court. Of course when she checked with them, no one from the police had called her. You are better off not picking up if you don't have a pretty good idea who is calling you, and it is somebody you want to talk to. Most cells let your screen calls too.

Are you ready for this? Way back years ago when mom and I lived in NYC one late night the phone rang? I leaned over mom and picked up the phone, A voice said I'm going to kill your mother. I didn't get a wink of sleep, Then there were not more calls and I realized it was a stupid prank but I was watching way too much police dramas, I am sure that someone is just fooling around with you and trying to get some kind of info from you,

Just ignore the same. If there was a complaint , you would get an official notice or a cop would be arriving at your doorstep. It could be even a scam. I am yet to recieve such scams. So , do not bother on same and move on. Thanks for sharing the incident!

If someone lodges a complaint against you, you will NOT be notified by phone. You will get a notice in your mail, and it's my understanding from reading about scams, if it's a real scam and you do not respond, a summons can be delivered by hand. But this is not a real complaint.
I do not answer numbers that either say ''possible scam'' or I do not recognize. If they go to voice mail, I will listen to them, but those numbers are almost always a scam.

I agree with Josefina. I often get calls from the hospital. A doctor needs money from me because I one of my daughters have had an accident. Once, that daughter wasn´t even in the country.
