A Cookout With Our Friend, Kevin

Yesterday, Jay said that he invited Kevin to our home for a cookout. He immediately said, Kevin will be supplying Bratwurst sausage and hamburger patties. We both love Kevin!
That sounds good to me! And for sides we have potato salad and a mixed lettuce/tomato vegetable salad. I made a mayonnaise dressing to stir in.
Jay has a pumpkin pie that he baked last month. He baked two, so one went into the freezer for another occasion. I guess today is a perfect time to enjoy pumpkin pie!
They will pile cool whip on their pie, which I refuse to eat. It has too much harmful junk added in, thus I can't eat it. Do I like the taste? YES! Does it make me sick? YES! I have to watch closely, what goes into my digestive system.

It sounds like you are all set to have a really wonderful time, and some really great food.
My theory on adding whipped cream to pie is that if the pie were not delicious enough, then it is acceptable to add the topping, but when a pie is just perfect, it needs nothing but someone with an appetite.

I love pumpkin pie, but only by itself without cool whip:) I enjoy it for breakfast, at times!

I do enjoy pumpkin pie with loads of whipped cream on top. Sounds like a nice night ahead. I am partial to the old whipped cream I used to make from scratch. I used to take the cream off the milk we got and make enough just for me to have some. I'd add the real vanilla extract and some sugar and whip it until it was ready. I so enjoyed that. The stuff we get nowadays is nothing like that.

Artificial foods make me sick, I can't digest those ingredients with about ten letters! I've made homemade whipped cream, it's wonderful!

I always have a little bit of pumpkin pie with my Cool Whip. In our household you can never have too much. lol My husband prefers whipped cream on his pie. Sounds like a good time. Have a great day and weekend.

@kobesbuddy Ice cream is one of the things I don't keep around much because I'd eat it all!
