Long wait to get living room furniture

We made many trips to different stores looking for living room furniture. We found something we loved that was made in Italy and wanted to get it but it was very expensive. For two couches it would be somewhere between $14,000 and $20,000. No way could we afford that, so that was out.
Went to La-Z-Boy and what we seemed to like was over $14,000 as they'd have to make it. I didn't want to spend that much money, nor did I love the furniture or find it very comfortable, so we didn't buy it.
Then my mom suggested we go to Bloomingdale's and that's where we ended up getting our living room furniture. We got two three-seater couches. One has reclining seats and the other does not. The furniture is from an Italian company (Giuseppe Nicoletti) and it is made in Italy. It is great quality and very comfortable to sit on. Plus, the back is high which is good for us. No need to adjust anything.
Bloomingdale's had a 48% sale on the Grazia model we loved. With tax and a five-year warranty the total came out to a little over $5000. By opening the Bloomingdale's credit card we will get $250 statement credit once the furniture is delivered.
I originally didn't want to get the warranty ($459) but my mom suggested I get it mainly because of the recliners. The sales guy said that if we do not use the warranty in those five years we can file a claim and that money will be refunded to us. It will be in the form of a voucher to use at the furniture department. I'd have preferred actually to get money back but I will take this over getting nothing.
The reclining couch is in production but the other one is a special order. And the factory is closed in August. Because of all this it will be a 5-6 month wait. Our furniture most likely will arrive in 2025. Hopefully, in the beginning of the year. Maybe the reclining couch will come faster as it's already in production. Fingers crossed on that.
For the time being we have to figure out what we will sit on until the furniture comes. Can't stay at my mom's house until it arrives. We've already been here since the second week of June. And we have to break in the new mattress we just bought, which means we gotta go home. But I don't want to do that if we have nothing to sit on and no dining table and chairs.

The cost to furnish a place is insane!. George and I bought ours locally and spent around 300 for it.

The furniture at La-Z-Boy is American-made. You'd think it'd be cheaper. But no. At least not for what we wanted. And it was that much with the 4th of July sale.

$300 for furniture is a steal. Hopefully, it will last a long time.

@lovebuglena So far so good. We've had the one couch for the same ammount of time we've had this house (eight and a half years), and George finds it more comfortable (post stroke) than our bed.

Damn, is the cost of living that high in New York that you pay those outrageous prices? I just bought a nice Italian leather sofa with three recliners for a little over 2 grand, and it was delivered and set up 3 days after I ordered it.

Wow, some of those prices were incredibly high. I'm glad you found something you liked that was a bit more reasonable.

Yep. It is thanks to my mom that we got this furniture. I wouldn't have thought to look at that store for it.

It is but no choice. The La-Z-Boy was an 18-month wait I think, which is a long time too. But I'd rather wait a few months more and get something cheaper and great quality and that I like much more.
