It's a warm one

It is 95 F (35 C) but it was predicted to be 103 today. It may make it yet. My mower does not start for me, but Bob can start it and hand it off. He does not have the oomph to push it. So I finally have finished mowing the front yard. A couple of weeks before vacation the post office sent us a letter telling us we need to change how high our mailbox is and how far from the street. There was a deadline for before vacation, but we did not get it done and we had them hold our mail anyway. I had purchased one, but they are not making us hurry to get it done. Today we got the old mail box out. Bob used the truck to pull the post out. I had already twisted and turned the box to remove it from the post. We got it across the street to our yard and there it lays, until I go get the two wheel dolly to move it more. The concrete is heavy. We probably will not put concrete on the base of the new one, unless it just will not stay upright. It was pretty easy to assemble but it honestly took my brains to interpret the instructions and get the brackets put together. They just give tiny pictures and expect you to figure it out. For lunch we had broccoli salad again. Bob is sad because it is almost gone. We will make meatloaf sandwiches tonight. I am paying bills today online as well. Money in, money out, rapidly. It is certainly good to come inside for a cool break and to visit with you.

95 is too hot to do anything! I'd be sad if the broccoli salad was gone too!!! Stay cool and hydrated and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

We are often at 100 or more at this time of year.

I did have, but it kept dying. I really sort of enjoy mowing.

@GardenGerty It is too hot to be out there with a standard mower. I hope you do it in the evening at least.

It seems a shame to make you move it when it was working fine for you all that time. Meatloaf sandwiches sound mighty tasty.

I have wanted a new one ever since we moved in. With the rural carriers the box needs to be in their reach to deliver the mail easily.

@GardenGerty That makes sense. I just hate for you to have to spend the money.

I've been busy today too. When I'm not doing some kind of house chore I'm on the lot making money. Never a dull moment.

We need to make those pennies, just to stay afloat. Plus it is nice to see our friends.

I really wanted a new mailbox. I just do not want to be outside.

I think many of these mechanical things are 'male' and only start when they know a male is behind the starter button.

I just do not have the snap that is required for it.

I know what you mean…sometimes the money doesn’t even wave hi to me on its way out to the bills. Hope you get relief from the heat this week.
