If I dared go to the supermarket again!

I bought a couple of artichokes from the supermarket. They were expensive. I imagined that I´d cook them and share them with Anita. I´m glad that she is not coming soon. I took them out and they were the tiniest I had ever seen. So they are boiling in a smaller pot and I´m promising never to buy artichokes online again. It seems that the only groceries that you can buy online are either dry goods or something that is sold by their weight. I should try to go to the supermarket. Maybe I could check if I still have a cart with wheels that I used to take to the farmers market years ago. I´m old.

Nothing beats in-person shopping.

@kaylachan The first time I bought online, I ordered chard (thinking about a quiche). I picket it from the bag they brought and threw them into the garbage can immediatly.

That might not be a bad idea either. But I would have to make a list and find where to place everything. If I go to the farmers market I could even get some fresh fish.

@wolfgirl569 I could go in an Uber. I don´t have anyone who would take me nearby.

I would be very annoyed!! I am appalled at the price of a head of lettuce! It's over $3 at most stores around me. I'll be planting lettuce in the Fall garden!

@kareng Here they have discovered how to blame everything for the high prices. If it is not the drought, it is the rain. If it is not the cold, it is too much heat

Here they are around $2. But we earn less than you do in your country. Now I only buy iceberg lettuce and take out 2 leaves for each salad. And I´m using more cabbage which is cheaper.

I guess if you need a cart, you should use one.

I bought years ago a 2 wheel cat for me and another for Leticia. We filled both of them at the farmers market near the hospital. Before the pandemia I went every 3 months to the hospital to check my lymphoma. When the covid started I decided I would risk cancer instead of getting the covid. Then there were no vaccines.

We were given a shopping trolley by Vince's brother but we haven't used it yet. Mostly we divide the shopping up between four bags and take two each. But it does limit the weight we can bring home.

I loved those cartts. They had 2 wheels and you can fill them and it does not weight as bags do.

@JudyEv I should have them at hand. I always buy more than what I thought at first.

I am very picky about buying produce, I want to pick out my own if at all possible. I'm sorry they are so tiny. Do they sell them by the piece, or by the pound?

They sell it by the piece. That´s why they were so tiny.

If it is somewhere, it must be at the second floor. I´ll go and get it tomorrow.

In person shopping is the best; but I can no longer handle it. Have a good week.
