A large monitor lizard was running loose on a highway in Phoenix Arizona on Wednesday July 10 required officials with the Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary as well as the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Arizona Department of Transportation were able to allow the reptile experts to open the storm drain and rescue the monitor lizard that belonged to Phoenix resident Seth Vancura who reported his pet named Archie who went missing. The good news is that Archie was reunited with his owner the same day. Seth admitted that Archie managed to get away from his home two weeks ago during a storm. Link is upi.com/1181720714040 via @upi

Good to hear that Archie was rescued. I think this species are endangered. Good things authorities in your place are quick to response for the rescue.

Perhaps lizards are spooked by storms then too. The owner should ensure that his pet lizard is better constrained as next time, he might not just get it back. He was lucky this time.
