Something I did not expect nor have ever heard about when living there. A powerful storm in the area has caused flooding and great damage, Fear that the Daugava River which divides Riga, Latvia in half may flood.
Please pray for all concerned.
Straight from the Internet
“Cyclone Kirsti has caused significant destruction in central Latvia, including the capital Riga. Emergency services reported fallen trees, street, and basement floods, and traffic disruptions. The strongest wind gusts were recorded in Riga. Additionally, strong winds are raising water levels along the coast of the Gulf of Riga, and the Daugava River in Riga may flood”

@RebeccasFarm it was very odd indeed since Latvia does not really get hit by any tropical like storms,

@LeaPea2417 the cities will manage somehow to dry up but can you imagine out in the country the farmers who find their fields flooded? Will the crops survive?

@Juliaacv imagine I lived there 20 year never anything more than some heavy rains. The worst is in the country where farmers have crops underwater,

@RasmaSandra Yes, that must be devastating.
The farmers here are complaining about it being a wet year also.
